Liberty State Park NJ Headshots
Liberty State Park headshot session with Jonathan Blakely
Hello! I'm Miranda, a headshot and portrait photographer based in Jersey City. My clients sometimes visit my studio, but I also travel to their offices or homes for headshot sessions. Increasingly, clients request outdoor photos featuring the NYC skyline at Liberty State Park.
This particular session was with a man transitioning from the corporate world to embark on his journey as a self-employed creative, specifically a videographer. He sought headshot photos that would represent his new business, along with more casual images that capture the essence of a creative professional in NYC and New Jersey.

When is the best time to take photos at Liberty State Park?
The best time to take photos at Liberty State Park is either starting 30 minutes after sunrise (sun coming over the NYC skyline) or 2 hours before sunset (you will have sun directed at your face with the NYC skyline). Most choose the sunset hours, but keep in mind, if you have light colored eyes, this can cause an issue with squinting in your headshot photos. We can work on finding shaded areas too or practicing closing your eyes and then opening them for a quick 3 seconds for a portrait with direct sun.
